Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV says, “He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.”
(AMP) “He has made everything beautiful in its time. He also has planted eternity in men’s hearts and minds [a divinely implanted sense of a purpose working through the ages which nothing under the sun but God alone can satisfy], yet so that men cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.
Right before verse 11, King Solomon reveals the wisdom of God by sharing with us all of the changes and challenges that we will face as we muddle through this human experience in the earth. He recants many truths here that many of us, in our maturity, are finding to be true every day. Even Jesus reminds us of the times in which we live, and the Apostle Paul recants many times in His letters that “TRIALS” will come… but it is how we finish that matters.
As I read my Word today, verse 11 really jumped out at me. I found myself saying, “Lord… Father in Heaven, you have placed eternity on the inside of me.”
The Hebrew meaning of this word is:
perpetuity, for ever, continuing future
- ancient (of past time)
- for ever (of future time)
- of continuous existence
- for ever (of God’s existence)
He impressed this upon my heart: “Tell my people that to know me is to know my WORD. It is to know my ways, my precepts, my paths … my SON. It is to know my Spirit… and to be ever aware of my PRESENCE, my POWER and my PROMISES. It is to live in this WORD…. never forgetting what has been, what is and what is to come that I have revealed. It IS who I am. Eternity is who I am.”
I found myself saying, “What is the eternity Father? Is it the promise of ruling and reigning with Jesus? It is the promise of never dying… but living in you?”
Then He said to me, “It is understanding that you are transforming into my Word — which is eternal.”
Now, I know this may sound weird… but when we think of becoming like Jesus Christ. We are really saying that we want to become like the living word. It means that our lives here on earth are living epistles not written with ink, but with Spirit. It is understanding that TRULY… the ONLY WAY we can RELATE to the Father at all is by walking “in” His Word. It means that we will at some point BECOME the living word as well.
For those who grasp this with their spirit, please follow me here. Our eternity or perpetual existence will be to one day live fully IN the Father when Heaven returns to earth. There will be NO MORE of this world as we know it… only Heaven on earth. At that time, (for those who know the book of Revelation) we will be living inside the Glory of the Lord 24/7… and our entire environment will be His Word. We will be his word walking in our glorified bodies…
This “eternity” that has been placed inside us is HIS HOLY WORD written on our hearts. It is that constant promise, reminder and passion for preparing the way for the WORD to rule and reign in the earth. Prophetess Karen always says that we are “Glory carriers.” Well, today… the Lord confirmed that to me in a new way… and I want to pass this on to you with Ecclesiastes 3:11b. The only way we can exist in God… is to EXIST in His Word.
This is the FULLNESS of the promise for eternity…
Father, in the name of Jesus, I thank you for placing eternity in my heart. I thank you for placing eternity in the hearts of your people. Cause us to rise to the understanding of what this REALLY MEANS according to Acts 17:28, “For in Him we live and move and have our being; as even some of your [own] poets have said, For we are also His offspring.”
