1 Timothy 6:3-5
If anyone teaches otherwise and does not consent to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which accords with godliness, 4 he is proud, knowing nothing, but is obsessed with disputes and arguments over words, from which come envy, strife, reviling, evil suspicions, 5 useless wranglings[a] of men of corrupt minds and destitute of the truth, who suppose that godliness is a means of gain. From such withdraw yourself.
Gird yourselves UP my brothers and sisters in Christ! Be encouraged! Be fortified in the Lord! Despite what we see happening around us — the Lord God is still on the throne. Our focus during this season is to be sure that are eyes stay on the Lord Jesus Christ. As long as we do this and can follow His leading… no devil in hell can stop us. What we have to remember is (1) who we are in Christ; (2) who we have as our helper, the Holy Spirit; and most importantly, (3) what we have been called to do in the earth.
Our role is not to FIGHT people, but to fight hell with our RIGHTEOUSNESS AND HOLINESS. We can prophesy and quote scriptures all day, but it is our LIVES that in the end will send the agents of hell running in torment. LIVE THE LIFE! LET CHRIST JESUS REIGN IN YOU! TRULY LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!
IT IS NEVER OKAY TO MARRY THE WORLD
If we enter a place, and find ourselves representing anything but light — we are preaching a different gospel. I fail to understand why this is such a difficult concept for believers to follow. You see, I’ve gone to coffee houses, night clubs, and even the streets to spread the gospel through poetry. When I went into those places, I carried the poems in my heart that spoke to salvation, the immense love of God and the promise of eternal life. There was no condemnation, only an invitation to the banquet table. If relationships formed in those environments, they formed so that THE LORD GOD could be glorified through the Son. I learned quickly that when people reject Christ, they reject me — and I do not remain in those places where Christ is refused and the people’s hearts have been hardened against him. These are the instances in which we must shake the dust off our feet….
As believers, we should seek to REMEMBER why Christ came from Heaven to earth. When we do things or desire things, the question at the forefront of our minds should be: “Lord, how is the love of Christ and the ministry of the gospel being extended through my choices today?” Our response to this question should be rooted in the VERY MINISTRY OF THE GOSPEL…. which is so eloquently explained in Isaiah 61.
IT IS ALWAYS OKAY TO DEFEND THE GOSPEL
1 Peter 3:15
But sanctify the Lord God[a] in your hearts, and always be ready to give a defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with meekness and fear…
I do not seek to understand the world. The Lord didn’t ask me or any of His people to do this. He didn’t even require it of Jesus. Sin is not something to be understood, but to be healed from. Our empathy for the world should exist in this one scripture — John 3:16. We want to see the world whom God loves restored back to Him in His glory. This isn’t an option for people who truly love God, it is a passion.
When I read the Word, pray alone, study with other believers, go to church, etc…. I leave those places empowered and determined to be Christ’s AMBASSADOR. You should be as well. Our role in the earth is not to BEFRIEND THE WORLD… but to transform it in the image of Christ. How can we do that …. when so many in the body are quick to (1) understand the world; (2) defend the world; (3) support the mixing of the world with the church; and (3) fear offending man more than the ONE who judges the SOULS of men.
DOES GOD KNOW YOU?
Romans 1:1-7
Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated to the gospel of God 2 which He promised before through His prophets in the Holy Scriptures, 3 concerning His Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh, 4 and declared to be the Son of God with power according to the Spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead. 5 Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name, 6 among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ…
How awesome it is to have a written testimony of WHO YOU ARE TO GOD. Have you ever thought about whether or not your name is written in the book of life? What about the book of remembrance? In the introduction of this letter… the Word says that “Paul, a bondservant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated TO THE GOSPEL of God…”
We need to look up the words “bondservant, called and separated”….
We need to look at the order of these words. Notice that the word “bondservant” or slave to Christ is first, followed by the identification of the call AND THEN the separation….
Just as husband’s desire is for His wife, and a wife’s for her husband SO IS THE DESIRE FOR GOD for His Church. As a result, He desires to know us just as intimately. THERE IS NOT ROOM in marriage for THIRD PARTIES, outside influences and opinions, etc.
GRASPING THE SEPARATION OF LIGHT FROM DARKNESS
Genesis 1:1-4
1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. 2 The earth was without form, and void; and darkness was[a] on the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.
3 Then God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good; and God divided the light from the darkness.
How is it … that so many of God’s people have completely forgotten the separation of “light and darkness!” It is IMPOSSIBLE for the two to dwell in the same space. If they do …. you will get gray… which is tainted light. The Lord ONLY DWELLS in the purity of LIGHT. When HE IS PRESENT… DARKNESS CANNOT DWELL. It is against the nature of God! If we can ever get this written in our hearts…. then we will have the kind of compassion that GOD HAS for the world! We will have the KIND OF PASSION FOR THE GOSPEL that the Lord has.
We won’t see the mingling with the world as a benefit to the body — but a cancer. We will understand that our role is to bring this light in every circumstance. We WOULD NEVER CONSIDER — NOT EVEN ONCE — how a situation or a circumstance could personally benefit us. WHY? Because we would truly understand that our rewards come from the Lord…
There’s no networking opportunity that man gives you…. that will get you any closer to God’s will. GOD, HOWEVER, will lead you into the path of those who will direct you to open doors to INCREASE HIS MINISTRY OF THE GOSPEL. I pray that the body begins to understand this by the Spirit. In doing so, we will come to understand that THIS WORLD has nothing that we need…
This age of “tolerance and compromise” is breaking up the body. I pray today that those who are SOLD OUT will separate from the SELL OUTS… as they move forward preaching the Gospel of Truth. My question to you today is this: Can YOU accept who YOU have been called to be? I’m not talking about the TITLE or WHAT YOU DO… but WHO YOU HAVE BEEN CREATED to be!
