Over the two past decades the controversy surrounding the issue of abortion has increased significantly here in the United States. There was a time when congregations around the country, for the most part, held a unified front for pro-life, holding on to strong, spiritual biblical principles that generations before us considered dear.
Today, that picture of unity is wide and vast as more Christian congregations (regardless of denomination) continue to move toward prochoice completely disregarding this simple truth: The SOUL inside a woman’s womb will one day grow into a mature man or a woman created in the very image of God.
In the midst of this division and debate, thousands of children are losing their lives daily; and women, many of whom are very young, are left to cope with the trauma and devastation of having an abortion. Yet, a remnant of Holy Spirit led believers exist worldwide whom Father is moving to stand firm against abortion and save the lives of thousands by reaching one soul at a time.
Author and poet Randy Goss, founder of Stuff With A Message, Inc., an organization dedicated to sounding the trumpet of the Lord in the earth, is one such voice. In 2010, he produced a prophetic CD compilation entitled, Unheard Unseen: Protect the Innocent, Restore the Broken.
In this eight track compilation, Goss taps into the creativity of the Spirit releasing the voice of children from the womb into the earth. They tell their side of the story in the midst of this war – reconciling all those affected by abortion through the love of God. Their story and the stories of women who’ve made the choice to terminate their pregnancies are heard through prophetic poetry, song, dialogue with the Lord, scripture recitation and music.
One might think that a production like this might be harsh, particularly coming from a perspective of faith in the Messiah. Instead, it brings forth powerful truth in a loving and comforting way – drawing the hearts of listeners into repentance, forgiveness and the arms of a healing Father. Because of the sensitive nature of this project I would, however, strongly suggest that those who may not be healed from the choices they’ve made concerning their pregnancy, listen to the project with their pastor or a mature believer to facilitate healing and understanding of the message conveyed.
This is a bold project in this hour, even for the Church. But the stand taken between each track provides biblical soundness and truly conveys the compassion of Messiah, Jesus Christ. No woman affected by the aftermath of abortion would walk away condemned or riddled with guilt. Instead, they would be bathed in the promise of forgiveness and acceptance as the testimony of “overcoming” is heard from the heart of a woman healed from her choice. There is also a call to salvation.
This project, Unheard Unseen: Protect the Innocent, Restore the Broken, is a fresh sound in the worship arts and an excellent example of pure ministry – meaning ministry without motive. The foundation of this composition is to bring forth the cry of Christ for repentance not only for those directly affected, but also for the family members, physicians, counselors, legislators and others who are searching for resources to help them “STAND” for life through their Christian belief. In Goss’ own words, this project is intended primarily to facilitate abortion recovery.
The CD project is available free to most organizations working with women and families in their decision process and/or those who are counseling or otherwise raising awareness about the importance of choosing life.
