Matthew 7:24-29 says, “So, everyone who hears these words of mine and acts on them will be like a sensible man who built his house on bedrock. The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the winds blew and beat against that house, but it didn’t collapse, because its foundation was on rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not act on them will be like a stupid man who built his house on sand. The rain fell, the rivers flooded, the wind blew and beat against that house, and it collapsed — and its collapse was horrendous!” When Yeshua had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at the way he taught, for he was not instructing them like their Torah-teachers but as one who had authority himself.”
A flood of warnings are pouring from the mouths of Father’s apostles and prophets in this season. There is a clarion call for the integrity and the very character of Yahweh to not only come forth, but SHOW FORTH in the lives of His people on a constant and consistent base. This “showing forth” is not only through the words that are spoken but through LIVES LIVED as epistles.
Today, I heard Father say this: “I am exposing the sandcastles. The altars men’s hands have built in my name are coming down. Beloved, they are coming down…”
All I could think of as He said this to me was, “Prepare me Ruach Hakodesh (Holy Spirit). Tear down, restructure, restore! I do not want to be counted as a sandcastle ministry.”
SENSIBLE MEN as mentioned in the scripture above simply refers to “wise men” – Sons of God who walk in understanding and fear concerning the move, heart and mind of God. The scripture mentioned above came forth from the mouth of Yahshuah (Jesus Christ) while he was teaching the multitude beginning in Matthew 5. If you have your bibles (especially with the red letter) handy turn there. You will see that he stayed with this crowd – in a place of uninterrupted teaching and apostolic flow – for quite some time. He was still talking to this same crowd in Matthew 6 and continued into Matthew 7.
In Matthew 5:1-12 the FIRST THING He mentions is THE NEED FOR THE PEOPLE TO HEAR AND ACT ON THE WORDS HE WAS SPEAKING. Please catch this! He speaks to the multitude about the Beatitudes! He gave them a revelational lesson in submission, humility and servanthood in 12 verses right at the start. We rarely hear teachings on these anymore. THEN he moves into the following teachings in the remainder of Matthew 5, Matthew 6 and Matthew 7: Being the salt of the earth; committing murder and hanging on to anger; the pull of temptation; managing spousal relationships; breaking and keeping vows; FORGIVENESS; loving one’s enemies; giving; PRAYER; FASTING; BUILDING TREASURES IN HEAVEN VERSES IN EARTH; worrying about earthly affairs; judging one another; SEEKING THE KINGDOM FIRST; asking and receiving; the way of sin and righteousness; and warnings about FALSE TEACHERS. The VERY LAST THING Yahshuah says to the multitude before departing to another region is about building “houses on bedrock” and “building houses on sand.”
You see, Yahshuah set a POWERFUL foundation for understanding HOW TO BUILD “houses on bedrock.” I am so blessed by this revelation. Here’s a crash course. Scientifically, bedrock is a special type of rock that makes up the earth’s crust. It forms a continuous foundation around the earth’s surface and has not been weathered or exposed to the ELEMENTS OF THE EARTH. WOW! What’s so significant about this rock is that it is a solid rock made up of many different types of rock, and is often hidden or covered beneath the earth by vegetation, sand, streams and shorelines.
Bedrock is generally UNMOVEABLE under ordinary circumstances accept for natural geological occurances that may upset it. Bedrock is also responsible for the DRAINAGE SYSTEM in the earth – depending on the type of bedrock present. Can you see the spiritual implications of what Yahshuah is trying to relay to us, the multitude? There’s so much here to explore spiritually! There’s just not enough time to build on this in an article. This understanding will give us NEW MEANING to what He told Peter when He said, “On THIS ROCK I will build my church!”
MY GOD! This is the type of foundation we are cut from and that we are to build on! This is the type of foundation the apostles and prophets of old set for us! As we continue GROWING and MATURING in the things of God – this is what we are supposed to look like!
In all the teachings I’ve read in my bible, this is perhaps the longest, uninterrupted teachings Yahshuah gave that is recorded in the Gospels. We must KNOW how to build our HOUSES – not based on man’s ideas and plans that are so often influenced by mammon or Baal but on the roadmap presented to us here. If ever there was explanation for seeking the KINGDOM FIRST – it’s in Matthew 5-7 in red letter.
Father is saying to us (myself included) NOW: “IF YOUR HOUSE does not look like this or is not SEEKING to look like this THEN IT MUST BE A SANDCASTLE! IF YOUR PURSUIT FOR MINISTRY is on anything outside of these things then YOU ARE PURSUING SANDCASTLES! Your very soul could be a sandcastle in the making – having only the appearance of bedrock.”
A STUPID MAN discards these steps of building that Yahshuah revealed. In Hebrew, the word for stupid is tipesh. It literally means to “BE DUMB” and there are no other meanings for that word in Hebrew. In this case, Yahshuah is actually saying only a “dumb” man would hear what he had preached to multitudes in Matthew chapters 5 through 7 and still pursue His own desires.
Father is calling us back to the foundations of His Word! TRULY other Gospels are being preached – but because they fatten the belly, fulfill personal agendas and tickle ears – many will still choose to remain dumb. They’d rather have loyalty with a church, a doctrine, a denomination or their favorite pastor RATHER than side with God. Such confusion and perversion has entered in to the hearts of men. Lord, help us…
I refuse to be a SANDCASTLE MINISTER! I REFUSE to build a SANDCASTLE MINISTRY! Its collapse, according to the WORD OF GOD… will be HORRENDOUS! But look at the promise for protection for those who build on BEDROCK! It’s time people of God … to just walk in truth and loyalty to God. If no one else has your back, HE DOES. We are supposed to PRESERVE and PROTECT the earth for Christ’s return… like bedrock. How we live MATTERS! What we say have little weight without a desire to walk the walk…
