Christian writers, do you know who you are? It is Father’s desire in this hour to have each one of us come to Him for clarity and understanding concerning our call. There is such a NEED in the earth realm for Holy, set apart scribes of the King. As believers of Yeshua, we are literally living in Him — breathing, moving and having our being. Our pursuit is for a constant manifestation of His presence and demonstration of His power.
Consider that final sentence for a moment.
It is quite ironic that Christian writers live in anticipation of and under the power of words, yet are the very ones who walk in darkness concerning the terminology used to describe who they are and what they do. Truly, the adversary is shrewd and cunning in his deception. His tactics work so well that we often build our entire identities concerning our writing ministries on patterns set by this world’s educational system and deny the power in identity rooted firmly in the Lord — even taking offense. There’s this need to hang on to the literary merit system for dear life — including its labels, ideologies and beliefs even when they completely contradict the Word on so many levels.
Something is sorely wrong with this picture.
For those reading this article, I challenge you with this before reading any further: “Give Ruach Hakodesh, Holy Spirit, permission to help you read the remainder of this article from Father’s perspective. Ask Him to take away any places of offense or agitation as we move forward.” This is important, because I don’t want you to hear me or see me. I want you to question whether or not this message sounds like something Father would share with His writers — His scribes — if He were standing right here teaching and instructing us. Completely ignore the messenger and grab hold of the message — and listen, just for a moment, to what Father is presenting to you.
I want you to consider for a moment that we are on one accord with the Word, and that WORDS REALLY HAVE SIGNIFICANCE in the realm of the Spirit. Imagine that they have the Genesis 1 (B’Reyshith) ability to create, nurture, build, establish, release, guide, instruct and destroy. In your Holy imagination (that which comes from a renewed mind), see the following scriptures as infallible truth, living inside and around you – shaping your world as a writer:
- Matthew 12:36-37 CJB says, “Moreover, I tell you this: on the Day of Judgment people will have to give account for every careless word they have spoken; 37 for by your own words you will be acquitted, and by your own words you will be condemned.”
- Psalm 19:14 CJB says, “May the words of my mouth and the thoughts of my heart be acceptable in your presence, ADONAI, my Rock and Redeemer.”
Imagine that you REALLY live inside Yeshua – consumed by Him, and that you say what He says and do what He does — just as He imitates Father. See these scriptures in their most simplistic meaning and meditate on them in the realm of the Spirit as if your very lives depend on them. Find a quiet place, and journal through this experience in a time of prayer or worship.
After you do this, then ask yourself if the following phrases make “biblical spiritual sense” when describing who you (and the body of scribes) are as writers in Father’s Kingdom:
- I’m a Christian “fiction” author;
- I am a Christian “fantasy” writer; or
- I’m a writer who combines fiction writing with faith.
To keep this simple, I’m limiting this post to these three prevalent examples. Now, “define” what the word “Christian” suggests in the midst of our sold-out walk with the Lord. This isn’t a trick question, but one in which I want to challenge you to define “spiritually” how Father would like us to identify our belief in Him.
A basic, western dictionary would define “Christian” this way: A person exhibiting a spirit proper to a follower of Jesus Christ. Acts 11:26 tells us that this word is used to describe believers who assembled themselves together for the singular purpose of following Christ.
After considering your response, take a few more minutes to look up the term “fiction.” This isn’t a trick question either. You will find that this word is defined this way:
- Prose literature, esp. short stories and novels, about imaginary events and people.
- Invention or fabrication as opposed to fact.
In short, the word fiction is actually founded in undestanding something to be false, untrue, exaggerated or a lie. You see, when we choose to remain on the surface of our faith in Yeshua, things like this won’t concern you. It will become “spiritual over kill” in a world where many things have been overlooked due to good intentions. (Colossians 3:1-4)
But in the realm of the Spirit, where people are in pursuit of the very heart, mind and presence of God — they quickly learn that the little things do matter. They understand that they shape what is important to us; how we think; how we perceive our giftings; and most importantly, how we “serve Yahweh.”
To say we are writing Christian “fiction” is literally saying that:
- I profess to follow Christ in the right spirit but I write about imaginary events and people; and I fabricate my writings.
If the spirit realm is real and the word of the Lord is real — then the words Christian plus fiction makes absolutely no sense. They relate to one another like oil and gasoline. It says that you have accepted the identity of the world placed on you and walk freely in what you have been labeled as — without question.
You see, these words contradict themselves and releases the type of spiritual confusion that is being released on a global scale not only through the principalities and powers in the world-system; but by the believers who are ingnorantly purporting the agenda of darkness. (When time permits, dig out the word “fantasy” and others that Father will reveal.) As believers we want to always draw from our Holy, renewed imagination — not that of the soulish realm…the place of good ideas. Holy Spirit is our helper and is here to teach us how to do this.
Father released the following Word of the Lord through me in reference to this: “Prophet, my people are perishing for a lack of knowledge. They hear my Words. They repeat my Words, yet fail to properly digest them. They skim the surface, but do not tread into the deep things of my Spirit. Many are knowingly and others unknowingly stand in covenant with this world system. I’ve come, in this hour, to awaken them…”
You see, Sons of Yahweh, the enemy SIFTS US LIKE WHEAT unaware. There are people reading this right now who’d rather HATE THIS MESSAGE and the messenger than to ask Father if what is being shared in the midst of it TRUE?
While this is an aligning Word, it is also a call to prayer and intercession. It is a call for our identities to be uprooted from the world (this educational system); and to planted in the Word.
It is a call to know that those who see themselves as writing Christian fiction ARE NOT DOING THAT AT ALL when they write what Father has given them. They are in fact writing PARABLES from their Holy imagination. They are illustrating the Word of God just as He and many of His sons before us did to establish strong, foundational biblical truths.
When I write creatively, I am not writing FICTION. I am not allowing the world system to DEFINE who I am and label me on the terms of the principalities, powers, spiritual wickedness and rulers of darkness in high places who seek to oppress and keep hidden the TRUE MINISTRY OF THE HOLY SCRIBE.
Sons of Yahweh, you are powerful! His grace has been with so many of us as we’ve walked through these spiritual traps over the years. His mercy has been following us as we’ve struggled to uncover our identities. BUT NOW, it is time to tell the world WHO & WHOSE we are. As I close, consider this: “What have we ACCEPTED from the hand of the enemy? What have we claimed and called good that is now causing pollution in the realm of the Spirit?”
As we set up our publishing companies and write our books, it is time that we allow HOLY SPIRIT to reveal our literary designation and the names of our ministries. There are some ministries and organizations right now with designations for their names that make ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE in the realm of the Spirit — and is bringing great chaos and confusion. Just as God changed names that “cursed” or ridiculed His chosen and placed new names upon them, He desires to give us our names. There are so many things arising from the soul in this hour verses the Spirit. There is such a need to press into Father’s presence and practice asking, seeking and knocking intimately.
Don’t you know Father copies NO ONE. Rather, he sets the standard. Are we bold enough to declare it? Are we bold enough to set the standard and break away from the Joneses? Or, after reading this, will it become just another wild cry of noise in the ear gates of the people.
Father, I pray that your Kingdom will come and your will, will be done. I pray that we consider you before we consider the thoughts of men. I pray that what you desire to be conveyed in the midst of this article today reaches every soul assigned to it. I pray that uproots, plants, waters and brings great increase. Let our eyes continously be opened. I pray that your Holy scribes desire that the words of their mouth and the meditation of their hearts be acceptable in your site. Take us dear Father, from the shallows to the deep; from the milk to the meet. In Yashua’s name, Amen.
