Prophetic Insight
I know this is a strange blog title. You’re probably thinking, “Prayer addiction is supposed to be a good thing right? We are supposed to love it, and walk in it with intense passion.”
You are absolutely right. THAT KIND of passion for prayer is good; however, there are believers who are addicted to having OTHERS pray for them. Their passion is not unto Father, but unto man. As long as they CAN GET PRAYER — with no effort of their own — they will never learn to pray for themselves and get breakthrough. You see, their discernment is heightened enough that they “KNOW” Father will answer YOUR prayers for them, but they “REFUSE” to take the plunge into the deeper depths of their prayer relationship for themselves.
And as long as those mature leaders continue to answer the phone, meet them every time they step into a prayer line or be their voice of reason at EVERY request, they will never unite with Yeshua in prayer for themselves. Instead of being addicted to prayer in their private prayer closet, they are indeed addicted to PRAYING PEOPLE — meaning the man or woman of God (or multiple people) that they are constantly running to for prayer, intercession or prophecy. The seek to be in the midst; without any TRUE investment of their own.
Pastors, mentors and leaders, I heard Father say this today: “Identify them. Release them. They must learn to pray for themselves.” For clarity, Father is not speaking of believers who earnestly covet the prayers of the righteous or those who are in the midst of developing strong prayer lives under intense mentorship. He is revealing a “spirit of prostitution” that has been unleashed in the midst of God-appointed leaders. In the spirit, these people are literally saying this within themselves, “I don’t have to press into prayer, I’ll just go to the apostle, prophet or pastor who I know hears GOD… and they can just tell me what the Lord is saying.” In return, they leave flattery and testimonies of answered prayers to cover their spiritual condition — making so much noise that the leaders fail to see their NEED for relationship.
They manipulate YOU into becoming their VINE, their god.
John 15:5-9 CJB says, “ 5I am the vine and you are the branches. Those who stay united with me, and I with them, are the ones who bear much fruit; because apart from me you can’t do a thing. 6 Unless a person remains united with me, he is thrown away like a branch and dries up. Such branches are gathered and thrown into the fire, where they are burned up. 7 “If you remain united with me, and my words with you, then ask whatever you want, and it will happen for you. 8 This is how my Father is glorified — in your bearing much fruit; this is how you will prove to be my talmidim.”
You see, these people RECOGNIZE FRUIT BEARERS — but don’t want to become fruit bearers themselves. They simply want to EAT FRUIT from YOUR BRANCH.
Sons of God, people who are “prayer addicted” to the prayers of others are not “united with Father” as they should be. They are not able to “remain united” in Him, in His words. As a result, they constantly sift from YOUR “unity” with Father. Over time, Father is saying, it will zap you of your strength, wear you down and pull you into unnecessary and unsanctioned warfare.
Our role, in the midst of the prayer addicted, is to instruct them to PRAY for themselves. In my own life, I’ve started saying this when I pick up the phone: “I tell you what, you pray for yourself and I will stand in agreement with you. Go deep and cry out to the Lord.” After a couple of times of this, the calls to me stopped.
Matthew 26:41 CJB says, “41 Stay awake, and pray that you will not be put to the test — the spirit indeed is eager, but human nature is weak.”
Romans 8:26-27 CJB says, “ Similarly, the Spirit helps us in our weakness; for we don’t know how to pray the way we should. But the Spirit himself pleads on our behalf with groanings too deep for words; 27 and the one who searches hearts knows exactly what the Spirit is thinking, because his pleadings for God’s people accord with God’s will. “
WORD OF THE LORD
“Sons, many are addicted to the prayer of others,” says the Lord. “They are not seeking me as they should, and have grown accustomed to a particular apostle, prophet or servant whom I have called to pray for them.
“While I will always honor the prayers of the righteous, I am calling those who seek to prostitute my anointing on your life out of their deception, manipulation and denial and into me,” says the Lord. “I declare that they will put their trust in ME ALONE, not in man. I am bringing down their places of idolatry.
“Beloved, speak to them. Commend them in this very hour to go into their prayer closets and CALL ON MY NAME! I am releasing you, even now, from any false responsibility and chains of witchcraft that have kept you obligated to those manipulative places of prayer. And in this place, you will REMIND MY PEOPLE that they have been given the ULTIMATE HELPER…. the ULTIMATE INTERCESSOR to go on their behalf. Beloved, push my people into my presence… and my presence alone.”
