Life changing!
These are the only two words that can adequately express the impact the book, Governors of Praise: Releasing Heaven on Earth by Joshua Fowler, has had on my life. Once I started reading it, I couldn’t release it until my spirit had devoured the very last page. I was full, and knew that this wasn’t just a book – but a reference tool and prayer book – that I would be walking through for years to come.
Truly, Holy Spirit has blown all over this book!
I’ve sat under and listened to many teachings on the power of praise and worship; and its impact in the Kingdom of God. While my studies and those messages did set strong foundations in my life, this book pushed me into a spiritually elevated, next-level transformation. My thought process, spiritual understanding and approach to praise and worship will never, ever be the same.
Fowler’s message goes out like a firestorm among the congregation of the Lord, challenging us to remove unilateral views of what praise and worship has come to do in us and in the earth. In the very first chapter, he makes a statement that will catch the discerning believer’s ear. He says:
“When most Christians think of making a difference in their world, they immediately think of things like missions, outreach or acts of service. Although these ministries are important and needed in the Body of Christ, what really will shake the nations and change lives in this day and hour is for God’s people to become ‘Governors of Praise.’”
Fowler takes Zechariah 12:6 and prophetically brings us into greater clarity concerning what the tribe of Judah really accomplished in their call to praise and how this same grace has been imparted into us today. He also helps us understand the roles Nehemiah & Ezra held as a governors sent like us to restore the people of Jerusalem and rebuild the city. In addition, Fowler is careful to teach us that Judah was legally positioned by God in a seat of governmental authority and then sent to possess the land (Judges 1:2).
This powerful exposition unveiled the role that we, as people of praise with authority, play in leaving a legacy of blessings for generations to come in our families, congregations and communities. He teaches that we also become powerful people of war and architects in the Kingdom.
If ever there was a must have book for Father’s true worshipers to place in their arsenal, this is one of them. There are very few books that I have ever encouraged the prophetic people whom I mentor to purchase or that I would put aside as required reading in the Voices of Christ Prophetic School of the Scribe, but this is one of them.
Governors of Praise: Releasing Heaven on Earth isn’t just a book. It is a very present, “now” Word from the Lord for a people rising up to breathe life into a dry and weary land. Get ready to enter a new season of authority in your life and to embrace the open heaven presented before you. Truly, this is fresh revelation!
