This morning in my prayer time, I heard father say: “Stop striving for men to acknowledge the call on your life. Stop wallowing in the disappointment of not being recognized for who I have called and trained you to be. Don’t you know that I see you? Don’t you realize that I am the one who has called you? Beloved, let ME be enough for you, and walk with you in this season of your life. In my perfect timing, I will bring you out of this place and put you on display.”
Over the years, I've received words like this many times for myself and for others. The mere fact that God is bringing this message back to us and in many different ways, at least to me, shows that we are never too mature to be reminded of His will for us. As I prayed, Father brought some specific people to the forefront whom I have been praying with. I sent this to them, and then He instructed me to post this message publicly.
Some believers have, at some point in their lives walked this way. They have longed or even craved for others (especially leaders in their lives) to recognize or see what God is doing in and through them. I know I've been in this place. But in some seasons, this just doesn’t happen… and you will "feel" forgotten, abandoned, overlooked, ignored, rejected, etc. Everything in your flesh will rise up and block the voice of God which is saying: "I am in the midst of this more than you know."
And guess what, this is a beautiful place to be!
Some of us NEED to be in this place. Some of us need God to RIP away every place of longing in our lives that isn't SOLELY for Him. This season in your life is a fabulous, ordained opportunity for you to DIE – to men, to human emotion, to selfish and vain motivations, to entitlement, TO EXPECTATIONS WE HAVE PLACED ON OTHERS and to LIVE for God! Father wants each one of us to know that this is a glorious time to confront that big massive need for “people-affirmation and approval” that consumes so many among the assembly today.
In other words, it's time to GROW UP and run further and farther than you ever have before in your walk with the Lord. It's time to put "those types of concerns" in the hands of Jesus, and take up that beat-up bed and walk.
Yes, he may have said to you – you’re my prophet.
Yes, he may have said to you – you’re my teacher.
Yes, he may have said to you – you're my worshipper.
Whatever the call, there is a secret place of being made that YOU WILL enter into again, again and again as you go to greater and deeper heights and depths of the God-kind of lowliness, humility and love. The wrong questions to ask along this journey are: "Why won't they acknowledge the call on my life? Why am I being dismissed or overlooked? These types of questions (especially if they have become a preoccupation) indicates one thing: You are looking to men for affirmation, approval and encouragement.
The right questions to ask include: "What is your will for me Father? Lord, help me… I need to heal my broken heart?" Your correct posture is to resist the enemy of your soul to draw to the "human connection" and call on your helper, Holy Spirit, for comfort and truth as you press your way out of this time in your life.
Father taught me quickly that wanting acknowledgement for the call on my life was a hidden form of pride. Was there an earnest desire to want this from those around me? SURE there was. But was it a requirement that I have it? Absolutely not. I had to acknowledge that the response of others toward me WAS ALSO between them and God — regardless of the assignment. Even Christ himself was a stranger in his own home and wasn't taken seriously.
Secretly, I thought I deserved some sort of recognition or acknowledgement. When in truth, God wanted me to die to this so that I would find my strength, identity and affirmation in Him alone.
If you’re in this “they-won’t-acknowledge-me” place, please know that it isn’t always the enemy at work. It’s God dragging you – kicking and screaming into the secret place. It's God CALLING YOU HIGHER… into a MORE MATURE PLACE. It’s God answering your prayers to take you further and deeper in Him. It’s God pulling you from the vats of milk into the storehouses of cured meat.
Psalm 139:15-17 CJB says, “My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, your eyes saw my unformed body. All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.”
Even now, your frame is STILL not hidden from God. As eternal students in the presence of Holy Spirit, we are still being made in the secret place in the realm of the Spirit.
Psalm 42:4-8 CJB says,“These things I remember as I pour out my soul: how I used to go with the multitude, leading the procession to the house of God, with shouts of joy and thanksgiving among the festive throng.”
Father is saying to you today: “Put the past behind you! Destroy the rearview mirror! Let go of the anger, unforgiveness and bitterness that is taking root in your heart because PEOPLE can’t see you the way YOU believe they should. Embrace humility and your desire to be broken and let him continue to MAKE YOU in secret.”
Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God.My soul is downcast within me; therefore I will remember you from the land of the Jordan, the heights of Hermon–from Mount Mizar.
Father is saying DON’T LET WHAT PEOPLE THINK shape your life! HE wants to occupy your thought life. He wants to be the one you consume yourself with. He is WHO MATTERS IN YOUR LIFE. Enter into a praise and worship as you continue to sit on the potter’s wheel.
“Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your WAVES and BREAKERS have swept over me.By day the LORD directs his love, at night his song is with me– a prayer to the God of my life.”
Beloved, Father is saying to you today: “I am defining my identity in you. I desire to immerse you in my living water – will you come? I am ready to send my waves and breakers over you…. as I alone direct you with my love and sing over you in the night season. Deep is calling unto deep. Will you go with me?” In Jesus Name.
