Evil desire can give way to demonic oppression. In our previous discussion, I talked about how men can simply be evil because their hearts are corrupt. But if they remain unrepentent, these “evil desires” can escalate… opening the door to greater evil.
It is for this reason that we, as believers, must be quick to repent, to forgive, to let go of offense, to denounce the fruit of the flesh, to let go of spiritual immaturity, etc. IT IS EASY TO MOVE FROM HAVING AN EVIL THOUGHT OR ENGAGE IN IN EVIL BEHAVIOR DIRECTLY INTO PLACES OF SERIOUS DEMONIC OPPRESSION AND AFFLICTION. God tells us clearly to be ANGRY… but sin not. We have thoughts and emotions that are negative; but we MUST NOT allow those thoughts or emotions to LIVE, thrive or be acted out… even in our scribal ministries.
The pen in the hand of the scribe should not become a demonic instrument – one that is strategically sent to oppose the building of the Kingdom of God in the hearts of men. It’s mission, when it does, becomes an unrepentant… instrument of wickedness set to turn the WILL OF MEN from God to pure wickedness. Think of hardcore mysogyny, misandry, knowingly twisting scripture for cult intent (like Jim Jones), deliberately calling evil good and good evil, grooming children for abuse, etc. (Isaiah 5:20)
There are also demonic systems, instutions and demonic scribes set over them. Think sex trafficking, pedophelia advocacy, literal sorcery and witchcraft, some forms of historical revisionism, etc. (Ephesians 6:12) Some of the most noticeable forms of the demonic in scribal ministry can be seen in the entertainment industry — especially in the horror industry. Who in their right mind could be inspired to leave a legacy of scripts based on the premises of movies like The Ring, the Grudge, Saw, etc. or the porn Industry? The systems manipulating this arena is big business worldwide.
For believers, recognizing the DEMONIC pen in operation should be among the simplest exercises of discernment when we apply what we are learning. This conversation can go further. My intent in this series, however, has been to share different dimensions of the lying pen that are not often considered.
Proverbs 6:16-19 is an excellent passage that describes what the LYING PEN releases into the earth. Remember, ignorance is a sin. Even though we talked about SPIRITUAL IMMATURITY… it can still LIE. Just read Luke 12:47 for a premise on this.
Further, these vs. highlights what the lying pen of the scribe releases. It reads:
16 There are six things the Lord hates,
seven that are detestable to him:
17 haughty eyes,
a lying tongue,
hands that shed innocent blood,
18 a heart that devises wicked schemes,
feet that are quick to rush into evil,
19 a false witness who pours out lies
and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.
