Here are some thoughts on what make us different or unique in the Christian writing arena? (This list is not about being better than anyone.)
- We give full attention to the voice of God in us over our own ideas.
- We are COMPELLED AND PRESSED to follow the voice of the Lord in all of our publishing projects.
- Our focus is almost exclusively on connecting our message with “the one” who needs us. We understand that meeting a city of one is just as critical as a city of millions. And we press forward.
- We understand that our calling is about HIS message alone.
- We are desperate to please HIM more than we care to please or appease people, or fit within what is acceptable around us.
- We WRITE FROM THE FIRE shut up in our bones. It is most often the only way we prefer to write.
- We write from a prophetic flow of the Spirit, not simply a soul stream.
- We are concerned with what we write on a persons heart and go to extremes to ensure it is the Lord speaking.
- The HOLY imagination is our field as creatives. It is from here that divine strategy and prophetic insight releases from our scribal realm.
- If the Lord is speaking, many of us cannot write for others…. in a public release. We literally wait or seek His Words.
- We see all specific releases as prophetic messages… regardless of what others might say.
- We do not take a casual approach to our calling as prophetic writers.
- We value wisdom that is assigned to us, not random opinion. We seek the Lord for every step in our process whether popular or unpopular… as we recognize that there are lessons and opportunities in our unique journey that we must face.
- The prophetic writer’s goals are often not mainstream. While one person seeks wealth another may seek a completely different path and it is STILL the Lord.
- Success is always subjective… even more so than what is expected. It is based on pleasing the Lord alone.
There are more areas to consider here but I pray these encourage you. You are not alone. We are LED BY THE SPIRIT! That is our greatest difference. Some people think it’s a weakness… u it isn’t for the well-rounded scribe. Check out my book, 40 SIGNS OF A PROPHETIC SCRIBE!
