This generation loves opportunity, connections to climb, outer appearance, cliches and the kind of passion that only rests in the moment – but cannot build houses or sustain them.
It’s seen in the ease of relationship dismissal among pastors and leaders of congregation that co-labor with ministries in one moment and toss them aside the next.
It’s seen when the art of healthy debate becomes sides in boxing rings – each person with their corner-man.
It’s seen in the world of celebrity life where marriages are glorified lust-ships that pass in the night when emotion is gone.
It’s seen among saints “who will wish you dead” based solely on political views.
People long for opportunities to heard – but offer no depth or room for conversations that crush hearts for the sake of compassion.
If ever there were a people to FIGHT AGAINST SUPERFICIAL LOVE AFFAIRS IN FRIENDSHIPS – it should be the church.
John 15:13 declares: “Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one's life for one's friends.”
Christ ROSE from the cross for every single person this world hates and seems unloveable. And charged us to rise from it with Him and do the same.
His word for us today: “Be a real corner man. One who cares about the fighter even if he loses the bout. Be the corner man that has compassion on all fighters gunning for the same prize in that vicious, violent ring.”
We don’t need any more opportunists. We need Sons to reveal themselves like Jesus revealed himself to the man on the cross. And despite what he witnessed, Ananias obeyed God and restored sight to Saul, the former killer of Christians.
Your brother is more than an opportunity to be seen. More than an invitation to ride the wave to “people-glory,” vain glory. More than the one you throw away when they DARE to think differently.
Sometimes opportunists miss treasure and next level because they equate it with was is honored by men and not by God.
There is no depth in the soul of many in this hour. Just resounding, empty voices that reject faith, hope and love as it rose to a WHOLE NEW WORLD on the other side of a cross that even those who said YES still cannot see.
Depth declares, “MAKE THE BEST USE OF TIME BECAUSE THE DAYS ARE EVIL!”
Not all opportunities make the best use of the time God wants.
He wants us to put away offense.
He wants us to forgive one another.
He wants us to love.
Real opportunity reveals the depth of what really matters to God. Not the superficial nature of a selfish humanity that doesn’t realize it’s still wearing grave clothes. #CHAMBEROFTHESCRIBE
