Father, I HAVE SINNED AGAINST YOU.. be merciful and heal me (Psalm 41:4). (This is what a contrite heart looks like.)
Forgive me for placing PEOPLE (spouses, children, friendships, mentors, leaders, etc), PLACES (churches, businesses, institutions, governments, nations, etc.) and THINGS (money, popularity, physical appearance, influence, popularity, platforms, books, ideologies, philosophies, politics, food, etc.) before you making them idols. (Exodus 20:2, Deut. 5:6, 1 John 5:21, 1 Thess 1:9)
Forgive me for not loving you as you desire it. Teach me to love you to the full and so my heart overflows with that fullness. I receive Holy Spirits ministry in helping me love you. Loving you requires giving you my WHOLE heart, my WHOLE soul and my WHOLE mind. Even my STRENGTH loves you. Christ and His apostles patterned this kind of selfless love. Be it unto me. (John 14:15, Phil 4:8, John 4:7-8, 1 John 4:20)
Forgive me for not loving others to the full measure of your desire. Teach me to love others at a level I have not comprehended. I love myself, but know that there is a greater measure of reflecting that live IN ME and then through me. You alone can teach me to love others as I love myself. Holy Spirit… help me understand Jesus’ own personal demonstration of THIS KIND of live which carried Him to the cross. I want to love like you Lord. I know it will help STOP THE CIRCUS IN ME. You are Love (ahavah) and God is love (ahavah). (Matt 5:41-42, 25:35-39, Mark 12:30-34, Luke 10:29-37, John 13:34-35, etc)
Bring me into the earthly and heavenly rewards of sonship through YOUR love (ahavah, Covenant love). Truly, Heavenly Father… you alone have answered all things by it and through it… as YOU ARE LOVE.
