I absolutely love the word “persistent.” It means to “ be firm in a course of action in spite of difficulty or opposition.” It’s that don’t give up or give in type of mindset that makes the soul continue no matter how many times it fails or faces disappointment.
Endurance is its counterpart. That place in the human spirit that declares, “I WILL STAY THE COURSE OF ACTION no matter how unpleasant it or difficult the process is… and I will not give in to defeat.”
Persistence is action of doing. Endurance is the made up mind.
The beauty in this is that being CONSISTENT AT SOMETHING MAJOR IN YOUR LIFE…. trains you in persistence, and roots you in endurance.
If there is one thing the Scriptures teach us concerning God and men/people, it is HOW to endure until we break into the ease of that goal and hoped for outcome.
God is looking for a steadfast people. I pray that we are among them… persistent, enduring and victorious.
We are closing out the first 31 days of the year this weekend. Let’s continue to BE the New Year we want and need. Be encouraged prophetic scribes.
Push through! Move forward! Take ground with your obedience to the Lord.
Hebrews 10:36 ESV
For you have need of endurance, so that when you have done the will of God you may receive what is promised.
James 1:2-4 ESV
Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.
James 1:12 ESV
Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
Colossians 1:11 ESV
May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy,
