I learned in corporate America that there were rewards of consistency, promotions associated with it.
I also learned that this truth was amplified when it came to the work of the ministry. It is directly tied to mature leadership, and setting Christ-centered examples other can follow.
You see, consistency isn’t “just about”completing projects. It is also about YOUR REPUTATION, ability to demonstrate leadership ability and live in a mind-set suited for growth, development and change.
We need to understand that CONSISTENCY HAS REWARDS!
•It validates one’s stability.
•It establishes self-control & discipline.
•It reveals a person’s reliability.
•It build’s a good reputation.
•It validates one’s work ethic.
•It establishes dependability.
•It builds trust and proves accountability.
•It reveals one’s relationship with responsibility in certain areas of their lives.
•It shows dedication.
•It reveals perseverance and endurance.
•It reveals intentionality.
•It establishes clear boundaries.
•It sets expectations in order.
•It demolishes doublemindedness.
•It establishes routine, healthy habits.
•It helps you brand yourself.
•IT ESTABLISHES SPECIFIC AREAS OF INTEGRITY AROUND YOUR LIFE.
•It proves teachability.
•It reveals reliability.
•It provides momentum.
•It gives access and opens doors.
And this list can go on and on. We need to realize that CONSISTENCY places us in positions to “become experts and masters” in the areas surrounding our goals. It gives us credibility AND INTEGRITY!
It is IMPOSSIBLE to trust the Word of people who are inconsistent in the areas that matter to their purpose. IT BECOMES EVEN MORE DIFFICULT TO TAKE A PERSON SERIOUSLY WHO CANNOT LEARN TO BE CONSISTENT!
Listen, there are many capable, talented and skilled people who completely SABOTAGE themselves because they lack the kind of consistency that elevation and increased responsibility requires.
Sometimes, what the Lord is waiting on for leadership… and elevation is the kind of discipline in our lives that REVEALS CONSISTENCY!
You see, inconsistent people make dangerous leaders. They could bail out on the people they serve and the responsibility entrusted to them because “discipline” has not had its perfect work.
Yes, I know these convos are difficult… but they must be had – not to condemn us, but to awaken us to the fullness of our potential.
It’s not enough to be gifted.
We need to be CONSISTENT in the areas that are pleasing to God.
Remember, everyone is consistent in something… even if that consistency is self-defeating and destructive. In this hour, the Lord is healing us and providing new opportunities for many people to redeem time and restore critical areas their “inconsistency” has cost them.
GOOD MORNING! And IT IS good! #chamberofthescribe
