Christ was competent!
His apostles were competent.
As a result, they had great decision making ability, clear direction reflected in purpose, stability in their mission, a finisher’s anointing and extreme impact. I firmly believe that every prophetic scribe has the ability to be competent in their measure.
Gad was competent as a historian of King David.
Joseph was competent in his capacity as a governor.
Matthew was competent in his profession as a tax collector.
Luke was competent in his capacity as a journalist-type.
Surely, IF WE ARE CALLED AND CHOSEN, there is a competence we grow into as ever learning sons.
Competence is defined as possessing “demonstrable skills” and characteristics that lead to success and efficiency. It is based on applied wisdom, proper self-judgement, a reality of truth surrounding our skill sets… in the capacity in which we are set and sent.
It is rightly assessing who we are and what we are destined to accomplish.
Without competence, which can also been seen as a discipline, we become incompetent – lacking the ability to be successful.
Competence is based on three factors for the scribe as I see it:
1. Capacity: What we are truly capable of doing within the measure of who we are…
2. Commitment: Our ability to stay focused on what is needed and necessary to move forward.
3. Determination: The inward drive to finish at all costs.
Anyone can have competence within their measure! It is a trait, however, that depends heavily on cultivation.
This may not seem like much, but for the prophetic scribes of the Bible… this type of competence was a gift all humanity is now benefiting from and will continue…
We can HAVE competence! Be encouraged… we/you can build confidence! No one is excluded… within their capacity…
