1. Creatives are “at rest” when they are creating without obligation. If you see them creating a lot, they are probably healing deep within.
2. The command, “Take a break,” is for people who WORK not people who create.
3. Communities of creative people never see “better or best.” They simply see growth at different stages of exploration and development in various mediums. They understand the process of other creatives and respect it. (Especially true on the spoken word poetry scene.)
4. Creative supplies are never JUNK. They are tools that could be in the way. This is offensive and will cause creatives to shut down that part of themselves toward you. Seriously.
5. Every creative has a “perspective” through which they see and listen to the world. Their interpretation of what they see and hear is often what they create.
6. Creatives always IGNITE creatives. At the center of creativity is inspiration and motivation for them.
7. Creatives with creative blocks are often hurting inwardly. While things may have happened to cause deep pain, the inability to create compounds it…. amplifying their state.
8. Creatives REVEAL the truth of their hearts when they create. Every communication issue is resolved in what is released in their creativity. If you want to know what they think, feel? Examine their personal, favorite pieces of art that they hold dear.
9. Creatives conceive their masterpieces in their heart, not just in the mind.
10. Creatives are extremely motivated by INSPIRATION. What is in them often can’t fully find its way out into a pen, onto a canvas or through musical notes until inspiration is triggered.
While all people have a level of creativity in them, the creatives that shape the “culture of creativity through THE ARTS” are those whose lives and passions are driven and occupied by its saturation and forceful pull upon their souls.
BONUS: Creatives who cannot create do not feel WHOLE. That part of them cannot function in an “inwardly healthy place” for long periods of time without a release through their medium.
