I heard the word “tethered” this morning as I began my day as I always do in the early hours of the morning while everyone else is asleep.

I closed my eyes for a few seconds, and I saw all kinds of strings attached to a wooden doll (reminded me of the drawing mannequins we used in art school). For me, wood in my dreams represents the cross and its redemptive power. I was impressed to see the wood from its redemptive position, stained in blood and carved or dug out for the purpose of “likeness and image.”

The wooden doll was a marionette, a type of puppet that is controlled with strings in the air instead of by the hands, fingers of the puppet master placed inside. (I would love to pray with you. Join me for the next free gathering virtually or in-person within The Scribal Company.)

The strings, however, were expertly tethered (tied in such a way that restricts movement). But each string represented misguided visions, misguided expectations, distorted focus, self-absorption, busyness, etc.). I realized that this marionette was a picture of a person – operating in their own will so succinctly that they were controlling themselves and believed it to be God.

The Prophetic Word

Father said, “Many people are dealing with feelings of being stuck. They cannot pinpoint when or where it started.

They have been looking at other people, situations and circumstances that have affected their lives. The places they are stuck in, beloved, is of their own making and under their own control — not that of another.

Tell them to cut off the things they are tethered to that I did not release to guide, direct or establish them. These strings are made of coveting, competition, frustration, jealousy, the need to prove themselves… and even of unrenewed imagination in their own mind resulting from hurt, pain and suppressed outrage that they have not conquered. They are walking out vision from a broken, muddy place.

If they UN-TETHER THEMSELVES their movement will be restored.

They will hear me without distortion and know how to get unstuck.”

Immediately, I saw a pair if shiny silver scissors cutting the strings from the marionette in one swoop above its head.

Prophetic Insight

The misguided visions, expectations, distorted focus, self-absorption, busyness, etc. began to fall away.

I saw people acknowledge what was holding them back. Repentance and the earnest receiving of the Lord’s truth concerning their condition was there.

The breakthrough is directly tied to cutting off falsehoods that have been tethered the mind.

What is happening is NOT always about outside forces working against us, but unresolved discontent within that drives our decisions in wrong directions.

The Lord longs to set us free from ourselves. He longs to cause us to lean into his understanding not or own… if we are to move forward. AMEN
