You are not stuck with Microsoft Edge, Chrome, Firefox or Safari as browsers.
You also don’t have to keep downloading a thousand browser extensions, plug-ins or buying ad blockers to stop the nightmare or invasion of privacy. Seriously.
Browsing Can Be Peaceful & Simple
Writers and researchers need peaceable, non-distracting browsing experiences.
Listen, I’m no expert. But I am fed up with browsers that force me to “login to my email or the browser” for the best experience on the web, or that require plugins for absolutely every point of safety.
If it’s not the advertisements that are harassing you, it is the tracking of your every move.
I’m a writer, artist, crafter, researcher and a scribal historian. I need browsers that help me do that in peace – not conditional peace!
Back in the day, Firefox and Chrome were the IT for me. Not anymore. I became sick of outdated plugins and the buggy upgrades.
Take A Chance
If you are ready to take a chance, these are the browsers that give me life. They have great, build in ad blocking capability, and incognito modes among the best I’ve seen.
1. Brave Browser: This is my first choice (even on my iPhone) for its simplicity. They live up to their website statement: Brave blocks all creepy ads from every website by default. And that thing where ads follow you across the web? Brave blocks that, too. Available for Windows, iOS & Android.
2. Opera: This is my next choice. It lives up to its boast: Fast, free, secure and ad free mobile and desktop browsing. Available for Windows, iOS & Android.
3. Vivaldi: I cannot rank this browser because I use it as much as I use the other two above for its ad blocking ability and privacy. However, the customization for Vivaldi is insane depending on the type of user you are. Only for Android/Windows.
All I can say here is to go to website, check it out and look at the level of customization you can get.
Say Goodbye
Because of these three browsers, I said GOODBYE to Edge, Firefox and Chrome.
While they are installed on my personal computer, I only have them available because certain apps like ZOOM, flow better with them. But that’s the only reason I keep them.
In addition, the incognito mode in each of the browsers I recommend is something to truly appreciate especially for research. Plus, I can implement my research and writing tools into these browsers without all the extra drama.
I will, however, share those tools with you in a separate post. Try these browsers! You won’t be disappointed.
