As I sit here waiting for service on my vehicle, I decided to write this post.
I want those who are serious about their scribal calling to know that there is a spiritual AND a practical side to our calling in our application.
Sometimes, I post secular examples about scribes in the Scribal Prophets Facebook group. By secular, I am simply referring to things that have no SACRED value as it relates to our faith. (Remember, secular is not necessarily sinful. The scriptures specifically distinguish between sinful vs. sacred, not sacred and secular. A project can be secular (like planning an event, publishing a book, and not sinful or sacred.)
Seeing Differently
The hope in sharing secular projects rests simply in providing excellent examples of skill, education, application, technique, etc. that are excellent and not so excellent.
Why? Well, for some of us we need to see examples of scribal work at its extremes that we do not often see in religious environments. We see their practical use and service (that can become case studies if we allow it), and make connections with scribal ministry outside of the religious atmosphere that has become our comfort zone.
The congregation as a whole is EXTREMELY BEHIND in its scribal evolution. Many and I mean many people in the congregation are still at the gate of writing and publishing, the entertainment and education industries… and they stop there at the surface. We need to me motivated, provoked, encouraged and UNLOCKED.
We have limiting and limited examples in the prophetic community. YET WE ARE GROWING, EVOLVING AND LEARNING…
Religion has a way blocking that growth. It forgets that gifts and callings are IRREVOCABLE. IT FORGETS that humanity is endowed with gifts supernaturally and it discounts those gifts when it doesn’t see what is seen as righteous.
While we long to see God represented powerfully in everything. As such, we wait patiently for people to receive salvation and DEDICATE their gifts/works to the Lord.
In that waiting, we can still see THE TALENT, THE EXCELLENCE OF CRAFT… and so forth. And even more, we can still learn from that place. We see it everyday in our schools, workplaces, and overall communities.
The challenge for us sometimes is separating what we want to see SPIRITUALLY from what is presented PRACTICALLY.
Spiritual Perspectives
On the flip side, when prophetic scribes dedicate their work to the Lord… and extend an uncommon degree of excellence, the opportunity to see the practical and spiritual work becomes evident.
My cry to this group is simple: Do not allow the posting of secular examples of skillful excellence and irrevocable callings to deter us from seeing the gold in people.
What I SEE is how God is revealing himself in people EVEN WHEN THEY ARE BLINDED AND IN DARKNESS… and the awesomeness of that when it becomes a testimony. I remember when I was in the world and all my skills were on point and making room for me — but I didn’t know God.
Today, those same skills are identified in my life, active in my ministry… but have catapulted me in the purpose always buried there. For many of us, we will be able to look back and see it.
Sharing secular examples in a Scribe School or educational arena is rarely an endorsement of acceptance OF WHAT PEOPLE ARE DOING IN THEIR LIVES THAT IS NEGATIVE but an opportunity to learn FROM THE GOOD OF THEM.
That right there will preach.
It is also an example of how we can make the choice to SEE THE GOOD LIKE GOD DOES IN US instead of immediately going for the jugular.
It is the reason why I direct convos here a different way… and will continue too. I see sin and evil just like everyone else… lol, but that is not the focus of the posts I share in this specific group where we are LEARNING.
Embrace the Classroom
WE ARE IN A CLASSROOM HERE that touches historical, educational and spiritual realms.
This is a LEARNING GROUP. The question is… can we try to see from a different perspective from time to time without feeling as if our view of things is “the only line of sight” for everyone. Can we challenge one another?
Scribal ministry stands IN the road of administration, creativity and instruction in the natural and the spirit. There is nothing that can take place in this world without a scribal dimension leading or influencing it either negatively or positively.
The gift itself, however, will always be neutral. But the one holding the gift in their belly will always have the power to direct it.
Today, I felt I needed to post this for the sake of understanding. May it bring clarity to those willing to join me at this mornings coffee table. May our eyes be open to scribes wherever we see them. May we use the power of faith, hope and love living inside us to call scribe’s globally into life… and may they know their gifting under the oversight and partnership of Holy Spirit.
May we be okay with our own process and evolution.
