There are certain times in our lives when we long to do more to help people. We might look at what is in our hands and say, “I am only one person! Who will listen to me?”
The truth is, nearly every major change in our history began with the efforts of a SINGLE person who had reached their limit or who had a need and no solution. Your effort, whether visible by millions or appreciated by one… matters.
Just remember: If we can encourage or help one person, it is already enough. You can help from where you are, with what you have.
The Simple Things
1. Pray for scribes of all types who are on the frontlines right now – journalists, producers, bloggers, videographers, publishers, historians, lyricists, poetic activists, recorders, photojournalists, etc. and who have been displaced, detained.
Pray for scribes in the faith that are positioned in the plight of the Ukrainian Christian congregations congregations. We understand the call, especially from a prophetic perspective. Writers of faith always pull from this place of service. We can become their voice of encouragement, relief, rescue and hope in Russia and the Ukraine where hearts cry out for peace.

2. Write, record and publish prayers, words of encouragement, poems, interviews, journals, vlogs, blogs, testimonies, etc. in all of your spaces. Become the scribe in this hour that empowers other scribes (and people everywhere) to awaken in love, in indignation and in protest. Move in your brave, bold scribal position as an agitator of peace.
Poets, visual artists, musicians, photographers and storytellers, for example, can have great impact in using their voice at vigils, on social platforms, engaging in protest art forms, etc. This includes standing against propaganda that supports and increases division over of peace.
Remember, writers – especially creatives – have always represented the conscience of people and nations in history globally. They have always been among the first to suffer at the hands of dictators who long to silence their voice.
Scribes have been and will always be the cornerstone for community awareness and engagement in its administrative, creative and instructional capacities.
3. Educate communities (faith-based and secular) about the Russia-Ukraine war. Make sure we are advancing the wars global significance, and not viewing it as “what’s happening over there.” Bring awareness to the implications with credible information, resources.
Join unified voices in moving people from complacency to vocalization, compassion and action.
4. Provide resources, opportunities, technology, publishing help, etc. for scribes on the journalistic and technological fronts in other nations close to the conflict. This isn’t simply about mass media, but those abroad. Seek innovative avenues concerning how to connect with resources or offer services in these areas to help (including translation services). Check out the coverage on the War in Ukraine via BBC News.
Learn as much as you can about the negative effects of propaganda and journalism.
5. Support Ukraine scribal communities through legitimate humanitarian aid organizations, and organizations dedicated to them specifically by donations. Seek out legitimate creative industries that are banning together to support creatives financially.
Last thoughts on Helping
Finally, we understand that many are suffering right now as a result of this conflict.
Seeking how to help scribes is not an effort to ignore this truth, but an opportunity to raise awareness around this population of people as well. We stand with ALL scribes in this hour whose hearts are for helping people and bringing forth the truth of this crisis. (Check out this post, The Prophetic Scribal Company, where we gather to discuss our role in the Kingdom)
We stand with Christian scribes as they diligently convey the Lord’s heart for protection, peace and justice. We pray for increasing unity, protection and courage among them.
We pray for miracles, signs and wonders in their midst… and for the stories of God’s mercy, grace and divine intervention to be heard. We pray for LIGHT overtaking DARKNESS in the hearts of men, the core of nations and governments.
We pray scribes on every level of society in the Russia-Ukraine conflict for the strength to stand in their sent place in Jesus Name. Protect them Lord. Teach us to stand on their behalf. In Jesus Name.
