Every day on social media, people are hoping for something better, something NEW. It is not surprising to see all the evil happening in the world.
In the US, for example, this week has been difficult as one tragedy after another has been upon us.
I saw a post, however, that brought some sunshine into my life. It simply asked a question: What song do you wake up to in the morning?
Well, this morning, I woke up hearing this specific line from a song by Gungor which is also in the Scriptures: You make all things new!
It reminded me of how important NEWNESS IS to the Kingdom WITHIN us! In a convo with my mentor… I UNDERSTOOD this when I awoke. Such clarity was with me…
Holy Spirit is our constant rebirth, our continuous revival, our ongoing comfort… and quite honestly… he is consistently showing up as our reprieve.
And then there is hope, standing on the edges extending newness. If ever we have needed faith, it now as we believe God for newness, refreshing, revival…. to be embraced deeply within.
Newness, for us, is not the activity of simply doing something new. It is not the giving and opening of gifts to see “what we received that is new.” It is not seeing something we have never seen before or simply having an experience we have never had.
While these things are forms of newness, our TRUE NEWNESS rests in the transformed heart and the renewed mind of Christ within us.
A renewed mind unlocks the heart of God within us in more significant ways every day.
It sets our understanding in order, clarifies knowledge, and gives way to wisdom beyond this world.
IT IS A NEWNESS that holds its place in eternal truth. It is an incorruptible newness.
It is a newness not of our own conception, and design but one that is MADE BY HIM.
We are desperately in need of CONTINUOUSLY being MADE new. Nothing on earth can bring us here because it is SUPERNATURAL… bound by the Kingdom within. IT IS NOT THE NEW THAT IS COMMON TO HUMANITY… in its temporal expectation.
It is not a new that wears off when familiarity and boredom sets in. It doesn’t become old because it is transformational.
Newness for us is His great mercy that envelopes us while we are yet in a world system drenched with death.
Jesus was in this world but not of it. Where He is may we be also.
Newness is what causes us to pass moment-by-moment from death to life.
We have to make the choice to pursue it.
We must live in a decision that gives it life.
We must cultivate it as light in the darkness.
We must understand that IT IS THE PROMISE of the Kingdom.
We must become desperate for it.
Lamentations 3:22-23 says, “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; 23 they are NEW every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
Truly THE NEW THING God is doing is for a desperate nation who understands that “newness” is about a personal refreshing that only the Lord can give.
Will we know it when it springs forth? This newness is not of this world.
He MAKES all things new!
HE MAKES all things new!
