Christ was competent!
His apostles were competent.
As a result, they had great decision making ability, clear direction reflected in purpose, stability in their mission, a finisher’s anointing and extreme impact. I firmly believe that every prophetic scribe has the ability to be competent in their measure.

We all need that inner risk taking, confident ability within us. It IS a part of our spiritual DNA and not just some psychological proof from a personality profile. Boldness is the catalyst of one’s motivation and voice. It DRIVES out fear as we fall in love with the vision God has given us.

It doesn’t feel like anything can bloom in a desert. Yet, the Lord says it can.
In fact, he promises that our souls will not only bloom there but thrive as a contradiction to the habitat around it.
Isaiah 35:1, “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.”
Deserts, those dry parched places in our lives, are designed to bear fruit in the midst of the devastating world around it. We are not just to “get through” the desert… but learn how to thrive in it… when necessary. Some trouble is with us always.
The Lord is with us in both the desert and the oasis. To Him the two are the same.

These two words of gratitude are my salute to the life you lived as a woman, a mother, a black woman, a pioneer in television and film, an outspoken voice against injustice… and an anomaly of grace that rested on your shoulders like the brilliance of diamonds.
I watched you from afar… never having the privilege to grace your bigger than life persona in any personal setting. But I smile often now, thinking you were one of those super heroines that would live forever in the earth.
