Theresa Harvard Johnson is the founder of The School of the Scribe and progenitor of The Scribal Anointing® teachings, the 21st-century revelation of the office of the prophetic scribe. She has authored more than 25 books to help prophetic scribes navigate their calling, taught thousands of scribes globally and developed safe spaces online and in person to foster prophetic community. Theresa holds an M. Div. in biblical studies and an M. A. in professional writing. As a scribal historian and mentor to many, she has pioneered exclusively in this area for more than two-decades.
Here are some thoughts on what make us different or unique in the Christian writing arena? (This list is not about being better than anyone.)
We give full attention to the voice of God in us over our own ideas.
We are COMPELLED AND PRESSED to follow the voice of the Lord in all of our publishing projects.
Our focus is almost exclusively on connecting our message with “the one” who needs us. We understand that meeting a city of one is just as critical as a city of millions. And we press forward.
We understand that our calling is about HIS message alone.
People ask me how I write so much and how do I know when it is time to write my books. Here is my answer.
My books speak to me.
Situations are highlighted in my sight or hearing that demands recording. This begins to happen consistently, relentlessly.
I wake up from the “scribal” dream realm with whole paragraphs and chapters in my book. Sometimes I SEE the examples I should write about in my dreams.
I have encounters with God in MY scribal realm of dreams. I literally have a place God takes me in my dreams (heaven) to instruct me. It is a place I write about in my book on the scribal realm of dreams.

When I first came to the Lord, things were so simple.
All I wanted to do was experience the Lord, stand in His presence, hear Him and experience the hope of new life. In many ways my experience was like a new romance and I didn’t want that feeling of perfect euphoria to go away.
In those first few months, at least for me, it was like “perfect love, perfect acceptance and a perfect hope” had settled into my heart snuggly. Not every son has had this specific type of experience, but all who Love the Lord have experienced those moments of perfect love. And in those moments… God is simple! He is not the complicated deity “our maturity” makes Him out to be.
Now is the time for many to strategically enter the next phase of their educational journey (JD, PHD, Doctoral, etc) and training initiatives in certain, professional specialty areas like advocacy, political science, chaplaincy, counseling, medicine, etc.
There are “special opportunities” that have opened up and will open up in this season that “offer and present” these opportunities in a learning environment condusive to schedules, lifestyles, budgets, etc. that have not previously existed.
The Lord has been speaking to me about the time that we are in right now as prophetic scribes. I thought today was an ideal time to share this encouraging word with you. I believe it applies to those who have earnestly wanted to pursue educational and entrepreneurial goals but were met with setbacks, closed doors, and tremendous discouragement.
