Getting Out of Pigeonholes as Scribes & Artisans (2)

Posted on 12/12/2020 by Theresa Harvard Johnson

I have met many prophetic scribes who have been pigeonholed.

To be pigeonholed is to be placed in a definitive box full of labels you can’t escape. Everyone around you can only “see you” from that boxed in view.

This is easy to understand when we think about the role of actors in plays, movies, and skits. There are many in our history who have found themselves typecast to certain roles.

Well, it can happen in all areas of scribal ministry.

(It is safe to say that this gifting and calling has extremes. Seriously. Those who identify with MOST of these signs have, currently do, or probably will serve in some type of executive administrative position with a high level of responsibility. Often, they will lead other administrators or significant administrative processes. Those who may feel that they are administrators but are not functioning at extremes in these areas could simply be in an exploratory or developing phase for this particular anointing. Then, there are people who simply function in these capacities out of necessity or while in a season of grace to fulfill an assignment but may not have a calling. There are many people that fall into that category.)

1. Intensely focused on providing solutions within their metron to others
2. Has an unusual commitment to help others in an administrative capacity
3. Can be found VOLUNTEERING their administrative giftings
4. Are often EXCELLENT at written communication, especially complaints, negotiations, etc.
5. Are passionate TROUBLE SHOOTERS within their measure

Secrets.

That’s what the United States has rooted in its history.

If we let history books and text books stand as they have in our educational institutions… both secular and sacred… that is all we would have— perceptions of history that are exclusive.

One of the MAJOR roles of scholarly “prophetic” scribes is to create inclusive histories for generations. The story of GOD in the scriptures… not just “the people of God”…..but God himself includes his love, effort, wrath, loss, victory, etc. and we even see “GOD” reflecting and working things out.

AMERICA & THE CRUCIFIXION (2)

Thinking about the thieves on the cross during Christ’s crucifixion is blessing me right now.

I can see (1) the “self-righteous” Sons of Abraham throwing rocks, cussing and justifying their demise; (2) close friends and the solemn prophets sorrowfully wept for the “Jesus” they had known but knew he was winning and not losing; (3) the black-hearted thief who mocked both heaven and hell, his pride so strong he stood against God; (4) the spectators with no opinion or voice for righteousness or anything else…. except what served them; and (5) Christ who hung mercilessly for every last one of them… all in the name of love.

Consider What Success Is To You

There can be many obstacles blocking our path to successful book marketing and promotions as prophetic scribes. I believe one of those obstacles is reconciling how we view success.
