Poetry as Prophecy IS NOT a Special Anointing (2)

There are many believers who believe that “poetic prophecy” is a special anointing for prophetic writers. This is a huge misconception.

Writing prophecy poetically IS NOT a special gift and it is also NOT unique. The style might be unique to the poet, but the uniqueness ends there.

Writing prophetically through poetic form was COMMON and THE NORM for scribes of the Bible. It is what nearly ALL the prophets of the Bible did as chosen vessels of the Lord. This isn’t “Theresa Harvard Johnson” talking out of her head! Rather, this is a known and accepted fact in Hebrew culture. The biblical writers understood that they were writing poetry when they prophesied just as scholars and historians have unanimously verified it today. Any one who takes the time to study the Hebrew Bible in antiquity either independently or through a seminary course will get this clarity and understanding within the first season of their studies. They will come to understand that ancient Bible literature in seminary included nearly 75-percent poetry – the Torah, the wisdom books, the poetry books and the prophets.

The Healing Power of Forgiveness (2)

If ever there was a poison plaguing the Body of Christ, it is the toxins that fall from deep roots of unforgiveness. I can testify to this truth in my own lif. I desire to be WHOLE and fully free from the issues of my heart that have bound me for over 30 years… and that have found themselves threatened to be compounded with each new wounding.  You see, wounding will occur! How we respond to it and process it, however, is another story. In my own life unforgiveness was one of the most misunderstood hindrances to my freedom from sin. By revelation, I learned that it was also the cause of a re-occuring illness in my life that I just gained healing from due to a process of letting go.

I had my understanding tucked away in a tight box that says: “I have already forgiven.” People of God, I am here to tell you that forgiveness can be a lifetime “in the making” and that the measure of forgiveness that we believe we have given may not represent the depth of forgiveness that God is seeking in us. Could it be that the “forgiveness” that we sometimes believe we have is only a surface level… of which we have convinced ourselves that it is complete?

Opening The Gates (2)

This clip from the movie, 2012, opens with people plunging to their deaths as they take extraordinary, desperate steps to live. They simply want one day, one more minute… one more breath. While we all know this is a movie for entertainment purposes, in shows us plainly in the Spirit  that many, many people want to LIVE.

As I watched this moive from beginning to end, I found myself thinking: “They can live. They can have a life even greater than this natural on. They can have it in Jesus who has already saved humanity. We simply have to be desperate enough to tell them… and let them know that the gates are open!”

Part II: Godly Confidence vs. Pride, Arrogance & False Humility (2)

Believing in who God has called you to be is not necessarily being prideful or arrogant.

Walking in and walking out who God has called you to be is not prideful or arrogant.

Acknowledging who God has called you to be is not prideful or arrogant.

Pause.

First, let those three sentences sink into your spirit and saturate there.

Next, let’s take a look at some basic definitions of pride and arrogance. Pride is deep rooted self-admiration tied to one’s view of their own achievements, twisted personal power or even one’s own abilities, gifts and talents. It is literally stepping into a role in which a person becomes their own God. Arrogance is the elevation of pride that causes a person to feel and exhibit feelings of extreme self-importance in which they respond to others and the world out of a “god-like” mentality. They demand a level of service that is completely selfish and self-centered. (Psychology Today Magazine has an excellent article that distinguishes between the two entitled, The Key Difference Between Pride and Arrogance. See footnotes at the bottom of this article to explain other characteristics of this article.)[1]

Part I: Are you Godly confident? (2)

Posted on 04/06/201705/24/2024 by Theresa Harvard Johnson
(The video above is powerful. Please watch it! It is 4-minutes long. In addition, the focus of my blog post is on “Embracing Your Confident” as a means of accessing your authority and power in Messiah. It is from the perspective of confusing CONFIDENCE with arrogance and pride. I pray that this series encourages you.)

A couple of weeks ago, the Lord began ministering to me about the power of confidence. It is through this confidence that you and I are able to access our authority in Yeshua and access POWER. Confidence works with faith. Confidence strengthens us in overcoming fear. The trouble is, so many of us have given our confidence away and exchanged it for false humility –the devaluing of the gifts of God that are within us, and causing the extraordinary “in you” to become common.

I had to repent for this – as I had walked this way for a very long time. In truth, it was an effort to lower who I was so that others might be more comfortable around me. It was the epitome of compromise, the very altar the Lord had called the ministry entrusted to me to destroy. It was an attempt on my part to people please, fit in. (If you want to take a look at the extreme side of this, read Luke 9:26.)
