Your Desert Will Bloom Like A Crocus

It doesn’t feel like anything can bloom in a desert. Yet, the Lord says it can.

In fact, he promises that our souls will not only bloom there but thrive as a contradiction to the habitat around it.

Isaiah 35:1, “The desert and the parched land will be glad; the wilderness will rejoice and blossom. Like the crocus, 2 it will burst into bloom; it will rejoice greatly and shout for joy.”

Deserts, those dry parched places in our lives, are designed to bear fruit in the midst of the devastating world around it. We are not just to “get through” the desert… but learn how to thrive in it… when necessary. Some trouble is with us always.

Being Unique: A Stronghold Over This Generation

Posted on 02/06/2021 by Theresa Harvard Johnson

Not to long ago I advised someone who didn’t feel as if they were “unique” enough in their calling.

They were desperate to stand out “like other people.”

The trouble with this, at least for me is that believers are increasingly becoming FIXATED on this topic. If we look closely at it, we will discover that people are drowning in "outer appearances" and obssessing over "how other people view them" instead of embracing the beauty of simply existing in WHO they were created to be in Christ. The real issue, from a scriptural perspective, is a lack of identity, not an issue of uniqueness.

The VIOLENT Fruit of the Spirit

Posted on 02/05/2021 by Theresa Harvard Johnson

The "fruit of the spirit" are VIOLENT… but we often present them as gentle and sweet. I am recognizing that they are swords positioned around the heart — fighting their way in without mercy. Sometimes we do not know how these fruit CUT AND DIG until we face situations in life that force THEM to push us to our knees.

Scribes, You Need Confidence

Posted on 02/05/2021 by Theresa Harvard Johnson

Dec. 6, 2014

The Lord said this to me some years ago when I was battling inferiority and unworthiness at epic proportions, "There's such a freedom in having confidence in me beloved. One day you will know what that is." I couldn't see it then. I couldn't even hope for it then.

I honestly don't know when IT WAS lifted or even how, but I do know this: "There is POWER & AUTHORITY in walking in the confidence that God gives. There is an inexpressible TANGIBLE PRESENCE OF THE SPIRIT that constantly reminds us that we are indeed beautifully and wonderfully made.

Guiding Scribes: Platforms Over Ministry

Many “performing” believers are in denial about their spiritual condition. The truth of the Gospel is this: We cannot proclaim “prophetic” ministry ONLY from the perspective of “the gift,” use it for greedy purposes, and then call it ministry.

Yet, this is how so many believers treat God and their creative gifting. They are “hoarding the gift” as it serves them instead of understanding the intention and purpose of the gift.

It is the spirit of this age at work.

It is the confusion of the ideals and ideas of people with the intention of Christ.
