Prophetic Writing vs.Christian Writing: Is there a difference?

Yes, there is.

Prophetic writers are indeed Christian writers, meaning we believe fully in the life and ministry of Jesus Christ (Yeshua). The difference, however, lies in our approach to writing and the focus of our ministry.

Before continuing, there are many writers who are indeed prophetic (writing and releasing the heart and mind of Father) who do not see the need to identify themselves as prophetic. They are simply following the inspiration of the Spirit. There is absolutely nothing wrong with this. As a people, we must walk within our own metron.

Are you really a Christian “fiction” writer?

Christian writers, do you know who you are? It is Father’s desire in this hour to have each one of us come to Him for clarity and understanding concerning our call. There is such a NEED in the earth realm for Holy, set apart scribes of the King. As believers of Yeshua, we are literally living in Him — breathing, moving and having our being. Our pursuit is for a constant manifestation of His presence and demonstration of His power.

Consider that final sentence for a moment.

It is quite ironic that Christian writers live in anticipation of and under the power of words, yet are the very ones who walk in darkness concerning the terminology used to describe who they are and what they do. Truly, the adversary is shrewd and cunning in his deception. His tactics work so well that we often build our entire identities concerning our writing ministries on patterns set by this world’s educational system and deny the power in identity rooted firmly in the Lord — even taking offense. There’s this need to hang on to the literary merit system for dear life — including its labels, ideologies and beliefs even when they completely contradict the Word on so many levels.

Something is sorely wrong with this picture.

For those reading this article, I challenge you with this before reading any further: “Give Ruach Hakodesh, Holy Spirit, permission to help you read the remainder of this article from Father’s perspective. Ask Him to take away any places of offense or agitation as we move forward.” This is important, because I don’t want you to hear me or see me. I want you to question whether or not this message sounds like something Father would share with His writers — His scribes — if He were standing right here teaching and instructing us. Completely ignore the messenger and grab hold of the message — and listen, just for a moment, to what Father is presenting to you.

Understanding TIMING In Dream Interpretations

Over the course of my walk with the Lord, there have been so many things about the “Dream Realm” that have baffled me. (I don’t mean confused here, rather I am speaking to being left in a place of wonder.)  I can remember saying to the Lord: “Father, why don’t you just TELL ME what you want me to know directly, instead of speaking in the parables of a dream?”

Well, let me tell you something — Father WILL answer our questions. He reminded me of something I’ve written and taught for years from the book, The Scribal Anointing, based on Matthew 13:10-11, 13. (I only skipped verse 12 because I am not teaching on this part in this article.)

Recording & Releasing Prophecy

The avenues for publishing the Word of God are opening to Father’s apostolic and prophetic mouth-pieces like never before. Hearts are being moved to launch blogs, start social groups, release through social networks, launch email campaigns, push prophetic newsletters, publish magazines, etc. Whether you or I realize it, what you write or release can be key in bringing understanding to the hearts of God’s people concerning a biblical truth.

You see, what starts off as a prophetic word or word of encouragement distributed to a few close friends via email about a coming move of God or what-have-you, could inadvertently end up traveling the Internet circuit — ultimately embarking on a journey of multiplication that extends FAR BEYOND those five or six people you initially sent that email to. We forget sometimes that in the digital world things published on the Internet are never really deleted. There are web archive systems that constantly take pictures of entire websites — saving them by date and storing them on servers years after that website has been taken down. Who knows what systems are capturing emails. Check it out for yourself! One such system is called the “Way Back Machine.” Click the link to try it for yourself. For fun, just type in www.voicesofchrist.org. They have seven years worth of our archives on their server — and its perfectly legal.

It is for this reason that the SERIOUS prophetic writer must begin to listen to sound advice and begin to step beyond their “comfort zone” or even the “way” they’ve been taught to hear from Heaven concerning the delivery of that WRITTEN word. As prophetic people, our “good name” must be guarded. (Proverbs 22:1; Ecclesiastes 7:1)

Thieves in the Temple

Posted on 03/06/2012 by Theresa Harvard Johnson

Copyright 2010 Theresa Harvard Johnson   Just when you think the storm is over, it seems as if an even greater one is on the horizon. By storm, I am referring to the trials of life of which we have no control — specifically storms that we didn’t create. God controls the weather and when…
